Rotator Cuff

Did you know that rotator cuff tears are more common in older adults due to a lifetime of wear and tear, or more current issues like falls? Rehabilitate therapy is often preferred and highly effective in treating symptoms and pain from these tears.

How Physical and Occupational Therapy Can Help

Resume Activities of Daily Living

  • Restore range of motion to functional ranges in order to complete daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and grooming

Improve Strength

  • Provide resistive exercises in pain-free range to improve strength in the upper extremity in order to complete shopping tasks, carry a grandchild, or resume recreational activities

Decrease Pain

  • Manual therapy can be a helpful treatment to restore quality of life by decreasing pain and muscle spasms secondary to injury
