Healthcare spending accounts for 17 percent of the United States economy, and costs are rising.

Beginning in 2011, over 10,000 older adults per day have been entering the Medicare system. This number will continue to rise because this population is expected to double by 2020.

In 2016, the Journal of the American Medical Association published a study titled “US Spending on Personal Health Care and Public Health, 1996-2013.” It found that over $1.2 trillion are spent on conditions prevalent in older adults.

A growing older adult population with more chronic disease burden makes finding new ways to lower costs is crucial.

Operating under Medicare Part B, FOX Rehabilitation can treat these conditions proactively. In doing this, we strive to avoid having older adults be placed in costly settings.

While the people in this photo are a real FOX clinician and patient, they are not mentioned in this article.
