The Importance Of PT, OT, And SLP Interdisciplinary Care

Whether it be some combination of physical therapy, speech-language pathology, and occupational therapy or any other medical professional, communication and/or collaboration is a pillar of good health care. The World Health Organization states that collaborative practice strengthens health systems and improves health outcomes.

Yet, interdisciplinary care continues to pose challenges within our healthcare system. In this position paper, we will explore the value of interdisciplinary care and its application. Additionally, we will review how FOX Rehabilitation has taken the initiative to provide continuous education on collaboration between PT, OT, and SLP, and the hurdles faced along the way.
