Clinical Relocation Package

Qualified full-time physical, occupational, and speech therapists who live outside FOX Rehabilitation areas of service may be eligible for an excellent relocation package. We are seeking clinically excellent physical, occupational, and speech therapists with three or more years of geriatric experience to join us. Emerging Professionals Mentor Program

The FOX Emerging Professionals Mentor Program is designed to assist clinicians, who have less than six months of experience, with becoming successful clinicians in an environment that promotes patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, and lifelong learning. Our mentor program provides exceptional clinicians, who are passionate about the older adult population, the necessary mentoring and training for geriatric specific clinical therapy.

Geriatric Specialist Scholarship

At FOX, we believe that older adults deserve the best life possible, regardless of past and current medical conditions. That is why we hire and support physical, occupational, and speech therapists who are committed to devoting their professional skills to this field.

All candidates for the Scholarship for the Advancement of Geriatric Specialists must be currently enrolled in an accredited physical or occupational therapy program and be current APTA or AOTA members. Candidates must be eligible to receive scholarships for the final year of their educational program.

Scholarship Details

Scholarship to be awarded in May. Selected candidates will receive a $10,000 scholarship for their final year of education in exchange for an 18-month employment commitment with FOX Rehabilitation.

Applications are accepted year-round. Superior candidates will be selected for an interview.

Application must include:

  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Copy of transcript
  • Description of clinical, volunteer, and / or work experience
  • Evidence of 20 hours of volunteer experience
  • Essay of 500 words on how your association's mission statement relates to the geriatric population
FOX Geriatric Residency Training Program

If excellence beyond expectations is what you strive for, the FOX Geriatric Residency in Physical Therapy can take you there. In this APTA accredited 12-month program emphasizing geriatric clinical care and leadership, the resident provides patient care 24 hours per week, receives 18 hours of mentoring per month (over 10 months), 6-10 hours per month of capstone development, and spends 3 hours per week on didactic and active learning opportunities with internal faculty, leaders in the field, or academic institutions:

  • Study under Thomas Jefferson University faculty experts on orthopedics, and strengthen your skills in the Human Performance Laboratory and Gross Dissection Lab.
  • Interact with Temple University faculty experts on balance, cardiopulmonary disorders, and learn in the Virtual Reality Environment (VRE) and Temple University Hospital.
  • Explore additional interdisciplinary experiences in the modules on integumentary wound care, orthotics/prosthetics, and differential diagnosis.
  • Focus on leadership development with Dr. Tim Fox, professional contributions, and advocacy for the physical therapy profession and geriatric community.

The mission of the FOX Geriatric Residency in Physical Therapy is to accelerate the development of primary care physical therapists into clinical experts in geriatric care who:

  • demonstrate superior clinical skills in the assessment and treatment of the older adult
  • collaborate as members of the inter-professional team
  • are advocates for the profession and the older adult
  • are leaders of and contributors to innovative practice
  • identify and provide value-based services
